GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) – Whether you sit in a chair or stand on your feet all day try these uncomplicated moves that you can do from the edge of a chair.
Start by scooting yourself all the way forward to the edge of your chair. Position your feet on the floor slightly wider than your hips and the feet can point outward. Bend forward, taking hand to the floor and if it is comfortable you can even place the hands with fingers pointed towards back of chair with straight arms. Just let your head hang in a relaxed way and feel the spine lengthen while taking slow and deep breaths.
Next reach spine forward to a more a flat back and place the right hand center to the body and rotate torso to the left, left hand to left thigh OR reaching upward. Repeat to right side.
You can enjoy both of these positions just by taking a little relaxation break at any point in your day. When we experience pain in the body it is your body’s way of communicating with you. So listen, pay attention and take good care!
