GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) – This holiday season many West Michigan families are looking for ways to give back and help those in need.  So we have created a Season of Service campaign featuring different non-profit organizations throughout our community.  Each week now through Christmas we will highlight an organization showcasing the work being done and ways families can volunteer and donate.  Take time to look through this list and discover ways your family can serve others and make a difference Where You Live!

This weekend kicked off the annual holiday campaigns of the Red Kettle fundraising drive as well as the Angel Tree Toy Drive.

One of the ways they helped raise awareness of the Red Kettles was through a partnership with the Grand Rapids Griffins and the 2nd Annual Red Kettle Game.

From now until December 31st, the Salvation Army will have Red Kettles and Bell Ringers across West Michigan raising funds to help support their year round programs helping low income families, people struggling with addiction or those in need of utility assistance.

When you come across a Red Kettle you can donate a little change or if it’s easier you can purchase a season pass pin here, allowing you to show your support and donate online.

Also, from now until December 24th you can donate toys and gift cards to kids in your community through the Angel Tree Toy Drive.

Stop by one of the hundreds of locations across West Michigan and pick a card representing a child. Purchase the gift on the card and return the gift to the location and help make a child’s Christmas dreams come true.
