GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) – Last night, the five remaining couples on Dancing With the Stars brought it for the semifinals. With one week before the finale, last night showcased some of the best performances yet.
The night started with each couple performing a dance in a style they have not done and a second round of trio dances. The elimination this week was based on a combo of the judges’ scores and votes from viewers from last week’s “Showstoppers Night” performances.
Two perfect scores were awarded last night. First, Terra and Sasha’s Rhumba received a roar of applause, earning them the first 30 of the night. Then, Laurie and Val finished off the first round with a passionate foxtrot that knocked the judges off their feet. Laurie brought some tear before the performance by explaining that she was very close to her grandmother who, sadly, passed away shortly after filming. Laurie danced her heart out and was rewarded a perfect score of 30.
In the second round, a second pro joined each couple for an all star performance. The trio dance scores were added to the first round scores, but surprisingly everyone rocked it and received perfect scores!
At the end of the night, here were the scores:
Laurie and Val: 30 + 30 = 60
Terra and Sasha: 30 + 30 = 60
James and Sharna: 9 + 30 = 59
Jana and Gleb: 28 + 30 = 58
Calvin and Lindsay: 26 + 30 = 56
Sadly, someone had to go home. The couple eliminated was Terra and Sasha. America applauded them off with a heartfelt goodbye.
That means Laurie, James, Jana, and Calvin are all headed to the finals next week! Don’t miss the exciting two night finale of Season 23’s Dancing With The Stars.
