GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) -The Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, in partnership with SpartanNash, is honoring active-duty military and veteran families in a playful way this Veterans Day weekend. Families with a military or veterans id will receive free admission to the museum Friday,
November 11th and Saturday, November 12th. Current and former service members will also receive a coupon for a dozen donuts compliments of SpartanNash, which can be redeemed at any Grand Rapids area Family Fare Supermarket, D&W Fresh Market or Forest Hills Foods store.
“While the museum regularly offers a military family discount, we wanted to show our appreciation in a bigger way,” explains Maggie Lancaster, Executive Director of the GRCM.
“Patriotism is one of our company’s core values, and we hope that our veterans and active-duty military know how much we appreciate their service on Veterans Day and throughout the year,” said Meredith Gremel, SpartanNash vice president of corporate affairs and communications. “Teaming up with the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum to honor our military heroes is just one small way we can say, ‘Thank you.”
In addition to the free museum admission, families visiting on Friday will be able to play in the Imagination Lab, a drop in messy and sensory play area, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Those attending on Saturday can participate in the Discovery Studio, a STEM-based hands-on program, 2-4 p.m.
