GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV)- “Speechless” is ABC’s newest addition to the Wednesday night comedy lineup. It’s a hilarious new family show starring Minnie Driver, Ross Bowie and Cedric Yarbrough. We recently had the chance to talk to Ross and Cedric about this new series to get the inside scoop.
If you haven’t seen the show yet you’re in for a lot of laughs. Minnie Driver plays a mom on a mission. Her character Maya DiMeo is a huge advocate for her family especially oldest son J.J. who has cerebral palsy. She is searching for the right person to J.J.’s voice and things get interesting when J.J. meets Kenneth (Cedric Yarbrough). J.J. loves Kenneth’s deep voice and cool attitude and the two have an immediate connection.
The show is exploring all sorts of issues that families with disabilities face and it’s both an interesting slice of life for viewers with some pretty great comedy in the mix.

What to expect tonight
Exploring the city on their own, JJ and Kenneth realize strangers look at them as inspirational. The two push their luck, receiving free food and baseball game admissions. Kenneth lets this get to his head, goes overboard, and things fall apart. Meanwhile, as the family can’t do anything without having to worry about wheelchair accessibility, Dylan and Ray convince Maya to take them paintballing. But can she let herself have fun without JJ? “Speechless” airs WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 12 on MY ABC WOTV 4.
