GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV)-The rain didn’t stop supporters from stepping out at John Ball Zoo for the annual Walk For Wishes event. Walk For Wishes benefits local kids through Make-A-Wish Michigan. Make-A-Wish Michigan grants wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to bring joy and hope to families. The annual “Walk for Wishes” helps to raise funds for wish kids in the West Michigan community. More than $140,000 were raised, and funds are still coming in.

Make-A-Wish Michigan grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their hope, strength and joy.
Since 1984 Make-A-Wish Michigan has granted more than 8,500 wish to Michigan children.
More than 80 percent of each dollar spend directly benefits the wish-granting program.
The average value of a Michigan wish is $10,000.
