GLADWIN, Mich. (WOTV) Samaritas provides services for young and old through its many programs. One of those programs helps people with disabilities become more independent and be active in the community.
Maranda visited a location in Gladwin that’s home to men with disabilities who are cared for by Samaritas. Staff members help the men with everyday chores such as cooking dinner, taking medication, bathing, and performing chores. But they go above and beyond that. One resident longed to ride a bike, but he is legally blind. A Samaritas staff member developed a way for the resident to ride a bike and worked with him until he could do it by himself.
