GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Schools are a way to bring neighbors together, but one school is inviting the whole community to get ready to go back to class. Hope Academy held a back to school event that was open to anyone regardless of whether they are a student or not.
The party included free school supplies, gently used books, and free food from Meijer. Kids got to experience a petting zoo, see a fire truck, and get their faces painted. It was also an opportunity for them to walk inside the school and see their classrooms. Seeing their surroundings before classes start is a great way to ease back-to-school anxiety.
Hope Academy is a public charter school that is open to anyone in preschool through 12th grade.
