Monday, August 8

MARANDA’S PICK: Kent County Youth Fair, Lowell
August 8 – 13
Carnival, free daily entertainment and activities, barnyard, food, and more. Meijer Kids’ Day on Saturday – park for $1 between 9 a.m. and noon when you donate three non-perishable food items.

Free Kid Flicks, Celebration! Cinema Woodland, Kentwood
Through August 11
Kids can see “Space Jam” for free! Adult tickets are $5.

“The Cat in the Hat,” Hope College, Holland
August 8-10 & 12
See the classic Dr. Seuss book performed by Hope Summer Repertory Theatre’s Children’s Performance Troupe. 10:30 a.m. on August 9 and 10, 1:30 p.m. on August 8 and 12.

Michigan Pirate Festival, Loutit District Library, Grand Haven
August 8 – 13
See pirate re-enactors and take part in kids activities at the library. August 13 and 14, the festival takes place at Harbor Island with merchants, performances, and more! Admission: $5 for adults, free for children.

Kalamazoo County Fair
August 8 – 13
Every day is Kids Day! Free Kids Expo with activities, exhibits, inflatables, and entertainment. LEGO brick play area, pony rides, 4-H animal exhibits, carnival rides, free grandstand entertainment, food, and games. Theme days with free giveaways for kids.

Tuesdays, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Science-based activities and interactive displays with a new theme each month. Included with general admission.

MARANDA’S PICK: National Blueberry Festival, South Haven
August 11 – 14
Meijer Kids Day on Friday, August 12 with crafts, activities, games, and entertainment! Festival features live music, blueberry food and goodies, parade on Saturday, and pancake breakfast on Sunday.

Rust n Dust Steam & Gas Show, Zeeland
August 11, 9 a.m.
Demonstrations, tractor and truck pulls, kids events and games, bounce house, petting zoo, face painting, food. $5 admission. Kids 12 and under are free.

GRAM on the Green, Grand Rapids Art Museum

Campers aged 5– 12 attend Monday–Friday and enjoy activities like arts & crafts, sports, music, games, swimming, rock climbing, drama & talent shows, archery, giant slip & slide rides and weekly field trips. New exhibit comes to the museum that helps visitors learn about our planet, including polar regions, oceans, rainforests, mountains and caves, and the Savanna. Included with general admission.

LEGO Travel Adventure, Kalamazoo Valley Museum

Exhibit lets visitors plan an adventure, then build and test transportation models made of LEGO bricks. Free admission!

The Robot Zoo, Grand Rapids Public Museum

POPnology, Air Zoo, Portage
Through October 2
Exhibition explores popular culture’s impact on technology. Large-scale immersive exhibition features hands-on activities and experiences, visits from iconic science fiction characters, and more! Included with admission.

Kidstruction Zone, Grand Rapids Children’s Museum
Through October 2
Children can explore construction-related trades by scooping and pouring gravel, building a brick tower, move wheelbarrows, and use a conveyer belt. Included with admission.
