Ionia, Mich.-While some teens spend their summer hanging at the beach and spending time with their friends, the teens of the Michigan Youth Leadership Training (MIYLT) camp are spending their time learning how to be better leaders in their schools and communities. MIYLT is an intensive weeklong training camp that gives teen leaders the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills through interactive workshops, simulations, and community service.

The Michigan Youth Leadership Training camp is open to teen leader’s 9-12 grades. The teens of the MIYLT undergo a series of hands on workshops and simulations that allow them to better understand who they are as leaders, working with others,  morals and ethics, diversity, and social change. The students work to develop a “take-it-home” project that will be implemented in their own school or community following camp.

“MIYLT is a great opportunity for local teen leaders to enhance their leadership abilities through hands on experiences.” said Deb Wagner – MIYLT Camp Director. With MIYLT only costing $20 to attend, it is a low cost option for local teens to continue evolving their leadership skills through new and differentiated experiences.
