GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV)- When planning your Fourth of July cookout this year, be conscious of guests who may have food allergies. One of the most common allergies is to gluten. Look for gluten free labeling on products that you are considering. There is such a wide variety to choose from. Gluten free products taste great and there is most likely a gluten free alternative to almost everything you need.

Gluten is commonly found in breads, pastas and baked goods, but may also present itself in soy sauce, licorice, beer, processed meats, cosmetics and some medications. Gluten is the protein that is found in wheat, barley and rye.  When someone with a gluten intolerance or Celiac Disease consumes gluten, the immune system responds by attacking the small intestine, which effects the absorption of nutrients.

Check out all of these perfect Memorial Day cookout favorites. From BBQ sauce to snacks to drinks. We’ve got you covered!
