WYOMING, Mich. (WOTV) Thousands of kids and families joined Maranda on June 23 for an afternoon of free fun at Lamar Park. The Wyoming Park Party was an amazing place to kick off the Park Party season, with more than 6,500 people in attendance! It was the first in a series of six events that will be celebrated in the West Michigan community with free family fun with Maranda.
“What started out as a cool, cloudy day turned into a beautiful day for our first West Michigan Park Party of the summer! 6,500 children and families joined us for an afternoon of free fun. What a great way to start of the 22nd annual season of Park Parties! I feel so blessed that West Michigan companies and organizations continue to support these events that truly do bring real joy to kids and families,” said Maranda.
The Wyoming Park Party was packed with families who enjoyed a free picnic-style lunch in the park courtesy of the Michigan Department of Education and Wyoming Public Schools. Lamar Park was filled with more than 60 different vendors providing a variety of free services, information, and activities. Country Fresh handed out nearly 5,000 ice cream sandwiches, Grand Rapids First Church performed hundreds of haircuts and passed out 5,000 popsicles, Ice Mountain provided bottled water, Priority Health handed out backpacks, and Ferris State University debuted its new 3D climbing wall!
On June 30, the Maranda Park Party team will head to Smith Ryerson Park in Muskegon to bring more free fun! All Park Parties are from noon to 2 p.m., with free lunch for anyone 18 and under starting at 11:30 a.m., while supplies last. Everyone is invited and everything is free!
