Keep kids interested in reading

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Reading is more than just a way to pass time in the summer. It also keeps kids’ minds active and learning while they’re out of school. Jennifer Pike from the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District says kids can lose an average of one to two months of reading achievement if they don’t read during the summer.

Tips to keep kids reading

  • Access – keep books around them
  • Choice – let them decide
  • Support – make reading a family affair
