School mentors work with campers on projects that can be positively implemented in their communities, based on important issues of social justice. Past projects have included: hunger, homelessness, teen driver safety and literacy. MI Youth Leadership Training Camp takes pride in not only making an impact on the campers, but also on the campers’ communities.
The camp is made possible by the Ionia Intermediate School District. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in an overnight outdoor immersion experience, cultural events in the evenings and unique simulations. The camp allows students to embrace the social change model, the Seven C’s of Social Justice, share talents in a talent show and other activities throughout the week.
