DETROIT (WOTV) Lutheran Social Services of Michigan has been serving Michigan since 1934. It will continue to provide great care and work now under a new name, as Samaritas.
Samaritas (formerly Lutheran Social Services of Michigan) provides resettlement for new Americans, adoption and foster care, and at-home services and residential communities for seniors and persons with disabilities, through assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care.
The new name of Samaritas was chosen because it evokes the idea of a good Samaritan. The name reflects the people who work at the organization as well as its mission. The new purple and gray logo, with ripple icon, includes the tagline, “Connect. Empower. Transform.”
