GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Saturday, March 12 is a big day for John Ball Zoo, when it opens for its 125th year!
There are plenty of animals to see in the spring, including Octavia, one of the penguins. The two-year-old was born at John Ball Zoo and was hand raised by zookeepers.
There’s one new face at the zoo. Peter D’Arienzo is the new CEO of John Ball Zoo. He and his family moved to West Michigan from Kansas City over the winter and he is embarking on his first season at the zoo.
John Ball Zoo offers discount admission through May 6. Adults are $7, seniors are $6.50, children 2-12 are $6, and children under 2 are free. The doors open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
