GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV)- Reading with your child is a great way to spend quality time together, build their vocabulary and help foster their love of learning. My son loves story time and it’s become part of our nightly routine. Every night he picks three stories and my husband and I alternate who is “the reader”. Our son gets to choose his books and we cuddle up for a snack and story. I always dim the lights and get him tucked in so we can start winding down.
We also foster the love of books by trying out new series, participating in the school book club program (getting paperbacks for cheap), and instead of getting a new toy at the store we encourage picking out a story. Preschoolers also love going to the area library. Sign them up for their own library card to make them feel like a big kid and give them variety.
If you’re looking for some fun new series or books to try with your preschooler here are my 4-year-old’s best picks.
