WAYLAND, Mich. (WOTV) The training manager at Paws with a Cause is sharing his secrets and helping Maranda try something new. Maranda joined two-year-old dog in training Cessna to learn how to properly walk a dog. One of the commands Paws with a Cause teaches dogs is to not start walking until they give a command. It’s also important for the dog to walk on a leash and not pull its walker.

Paws with a Cause dogs trains dogs to become service animals. Volunteers foster families raise the puppies from eight weeks old for 18 months. After foster care, the dogs return to Paws With A Cause to be trained in advanced commands.

If you’re interesting in being a foster parent to a puppy, visit the Paws With A Cause website or call 800-253-7297 and ask to speak to the foster puppy coordinator.
