GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) — The IM Kids 3rd Meal program was excited to be the recipient of a $1,000 grant from the State Farm Ionia County agents. The check was awarded on December 3rd at the IM Kids 3rd Meal program located in the H.O. Steele Education Center. The money will go directly to the program, which supplies a 3rd meal to kids in food insecure homes in Ionia and Montcalm counties. The $1,000 generously granted by the area State Farm team will provide 1,000 meals.

The 3rd Meals are prepared by volunteers at the H.O. Steele Education Center, delivered to schools in the afternoon and then distributed to the students before they are dismissed for the day. Each 3rd Meal is a well-balanced, ready-to-eat evening meal that students receive each school day.
The program relies on donations and volunteers and is looking for more community members/groups to get involved. If you’re interested in helping please visit the IM Kids 3rd Meal Program website.
