GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) The Michigan Snowsports Industries Association (MSIA) is encouraging children and families to get active this winter by offering free skiing!

The “Cold is Cool” Ski & Ride Passport is a statewide initiative open to any fourth or fifth grade student in Michigan. The passport gives them up to three free lift tickets or trail passes at 30 participating ski areas, plus additional discounts.

A paying adult must accompany children using the passport. Up to two kids can ski free with each paying adult. MSIA charges $20 for the “Cold is Cool” Passport to cover printing, shipping, and postage fees. The passport is valid through April 30, 2016, or the end of the 2015/2016 ski season.
