Pregnancy heartburn 101
1. Small meals are key.
Going overboard and filling up too fast will definitely lead to heartburn. Small frequent meals are better to keep things in check.
2. Eat slower.
While your munching down your meal pump the brakes. Eating more slowly can help reduce the risk of heartburn.
3. Move after meals.
After you eat stand up and get moving. A light walk or a little housework are good ideas. Don’t bend over or lie down because you’ll have a better chance to have acid come back up causing heartburn.
4. No bedtime smorgasbord.
Avoid eating before bad. Once you lie down you’ll be more apt to get heartburn. Some experts even recommend propping up your head and shoulders.
5. Loosen up.
Wearing tight-fitting clothing will put a lot of pressure on your stomach area and the results aren’t fun for you or your digestive system.
