GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) An 11-year-old from Sparta is speeding toward amazing goals, behind the wheel of a sprint car!

Andrew has only been racing sprint cars for about a month. He got his love for speed when he started racing BMX bikes at the age of five. He started racing go-karts at nine, then got the call to try a sprint car just a month ago. He picked it up right away, and has already won two out of his first five races – against adult drivers!

Andrew has gone 90 miles per hour in his car. He is fully protected with a full containment seat, helmet, and other NASCAR-level safety precautions. Andrew is getting ready to race at Berlin Raceway for the first time on September 25. The “Showdown on Dirt” will feature 4-Cylindars, Street Stocks, and more! Adults are $12 and kids over age seven are $5.
