GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) National Ice Cream Day is Sunday, July 19. What better way to celebrate than with your favorite scoop? Maranda went around West Michigan to find the best ice cream the area has to offer.
Pinkie’s Ice Cream and Desserts
Pinkie’s Ice Cream and Desserts is located on Wealthy Street in Grand Rapids. The owner picked that area because it’s a diverse neighborhood with great people. Pinkie’s has a fun and friendly atmosphere that’s great for families. They rotate 44 flavors of Sherman’s Ice Cream, which is made in South Haven. Stop by on National Ice Cream Day. Anyone who doesn’t have a driver’s license can get a free Pinkie cone of vanilla, chocolate, or Super Man flavor while supplies last.
Plainwell Ice Cream Co.
Plainwell Ice Cream Co. makes 55 flavors homemade on site and has been in business for 37 years. It’s a great spot to find unique flavors like key lime pie, pumpkin, and jamocha almond fudge.
MOO-ville Creamery in Nashville makes what they call super premium ice cream. They use natural ingredients as much as possible to make their 80 flavors. Some of their most popular and unique flavors include sea salt caramel and baconator. They offer more than just ice cream, too. Stop by for a visit to their free petting zoo, take a farm tour, and more!
