WYOMING, Mich. (WOTV) The first Maranda Park Party of the summer is coming to Lamar Park in Wyoming on Thursday. This is the sixth year Lamar Park has hosted a Park Party, and this year promises to be the biggest ever, with 61 vendors, a new huge obstacle course, and a Ferris wheel!
Arrive off Byron Center Avenue just south of Chicago Drive. Free lunches at 11:30 a.m. and the party is from noon until 2 p.m. Everyone is invited and everything is free!
Grand Rapids First Church is helping super-size this Park Party by providing porta-johns with handwashing stations. At their area, they will be providing free summer haircuts by licensed stylists as well as face painting, popsicles, and Friendship Gardens. Plus, don’t miss an awesome performance by their student ministries youth band on the Craig’s Cruisers Entertainment Stage.
Maranda is sharing her tips for what you need to know before you head out to the Park Party.
- Bring new or gently used items to donate to Bethany’s Thrift Store and get an Entertainment Book while supplies last.
- There will be plenty of things to do, with a record number of vendors.
- Check out two big new attractions: a 105 foot obstacle course and a Ferris wheel!
- Awesome prizes include passes to Cedar Point and Michigan’s Adventure. Comcast is giving away a Chrome laptop, and register to win an RV vacation from General RV.
Park Parties wouldn’t be possible without great work by interns at WOOD TV8 and WOTV 4 Women. Dozens of college students work hard every summer to make sure Park Parties run smoothly. If you see one of the interns in a green shirt at the Park Party, make sure to say hi!
