National Donut Day goes back to 1917 when the Salvation Army delivered donuts to US World War I soldiers fighting in France. The Salvation Army has continued this tradition as a way to say thanks to others who give back with their time, treasure and talents.
Besides for nominating, you can give back by volunteering in the event. There’s more information on how you can volunteer or sign up here.
