GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) — No matter how well-designed your neutral space is, after you’ve lived in it for a time it may start to feel too neutral at times. Fortunately, for those of us who like to switch colors in and out or like to change things out by season, neutral spaces can provide a perfect backdrop. Whatever your reason for adding a new color, once you have decided to do it, a good rule of thumb: add an accent color at least three times, preferably in various spots.
This will draw the eye around the room rather than just focusing on one area. Adding pops of color through pillows, rugs, and accessories which are easy and affordable to change out with the seasons. To go beyond pops of color, and integrate an accent color even further, add one or more elements that combine your neutral color with your accent color.
