GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids provides emotional health care to kids, adults, families, and friends on any kind of cancer journey.
Gilda’s Club offers support groups, presentations, and workshops for anyone affected by a cancer diagnosis. They invite families to come together for emotional healing and allow people living with cancer to connect to each other.
One of the people who benefitted from Gilda’s Club is Angela Schmidt. She went in for her annual mammogram and it came back unclear because of dense breast tissue. She went in for tomosynthesis, then an ultrasound that found a tumor. She had surgery and radiation and is in remission. Schmidt has four boys ages 12, 11, and nine year old twins. She says Gilda’s Club was so helpful for her and her family, they dropped all of their plans so they could attend.
