GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) A healthy body and a healthy mind go hand-in-hand. One of the best ways for children to be healthy is to eat a nutritious, well-balanced diet that includes at least three servings of dairy a day.
United Dairy Industry of Michigan (UDIM) helps ensure children across the state are healthy by supporting Fuel Up to Play 60, a free school nutrition and physical activity program run by students. It is available to all schools in the country to empower students to demonstrate a healthy lifestyle.
UDIM also partners with the MHSAA to make chocolate milk the official beverage of the MHSAA. Chocolate milk is the perfect drink for after a workout because it provides nine essential nutrients, including protein. Cheerleaders at the Cheer State Finals at the DeltaPlex drank chocolate milk at the competition to help fuel their bodies to go for the state title.
Jump with Jill partnered with UDIM to make a music video to motivate kids to eat breakfast. It was filmed at Jenison Junior High School in late 2014, featuring students from that school as well as Hudsonville schools. The video was distributed to 2,500 schools in Michigan that participate in Fuel Up to Play 60.
