GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) High school students are getting real-world experience of what it’s like to work in the field of criminal justice. Kent Career Technical Center’s Criminal Justice program is one of 22 programs offered to junior and senior high school students throughout Kent County.
The two-year program teaches students all the components of law enforcement, criminal investigations, corrections, and the court system. The courses are all taught by former police officers and other personnel in law enforcement and courts.
Students get real-world experience in a dramatic setting when they learn how to defend themselves, enter a building for a search, handle a crime scene, and conduct court cases.
