GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV)-Community members were wrapped in red for a luncheon celebration that helps make a difference in women’s lives. WHY GO RED?
Heart disease strikes someone in the U.S. every 43 seconds.
Heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in the United States, killing over 375,000 people a year.
Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women, taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined.
We can change that, because 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.
Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 killers of women, taking the lives of 1 in 3 women each year. In Michigan, that means 37 mothers, sisters, daughters and friends are dying every day. This translates nationally to one woman every minute. Step out in red at the GO RED FOR WOMEN luncheon Wednesday, February 25, 2014 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the J.W. Marriott, Grand Rapids.
