Go Red for Women: Tips for going red at home

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) February is American Heart Month and Feb. 6 is Go Red for Women. You can participate at home by dressing your home red, fundraising, or decorating your neighborhood. There are many different ways you can raise awareness of heart disease.

Cardiovascular diseases cause one in three women’s deaths each year, killing approximately one woman every minute. An estimated 43 million women in the U.S. are affected by cardiovascular diseases. 90 percent of women have one or more risk factors for heart disease or stroke and 80 percent of heart disease and stroke events could be prevented.
