Program gives teens a second chance

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOTV) A unique program is offering young people the chance to start over again. The Michigan Youth Challenge Academy is a program for teens ages 16 to 18.

The nearly 18 month program encourages physical, mental, and moral development. The goal is to prepare young people for a future in education and employability. It also teaches them life coping skills, discipline, and structure.

Each participant is in the academy by choice. During the program, they earn a semester of high school credits, 21 college credits, and may earn a G.E.D.
