The Ionia Intermediate School District is working to make a positive impact so that local students will become tomorrow’s leaders. The Michigan Youth Leadership Training Camp is a camp designed for youth 9th through 12th grade to become impactful leaders in their schools and communities. The camp is a life-changing week of adventure, self-discovery, cultural exchange, leadership-building, and service.
In Ionia County 1 in 5 children are food insecure and in Montcalm County 1 in 4 are food insecure. IM Kids 3rd Meal is committed to ending childhood hunger in Ionia and Montcalm counties by securing volunteers to pack 3rd meals for children-so lunch is not the last meal of the day.
Celebrate My Drive is about students celebrating the exciting freedom that comes with getting a driver’s license. Part of that excitement also means being aware of responsibilities and making smart choices behind the wheel. State Farm and the Ionia ISD are spreading the message of 2N2® – 2 eyes on the road, 2 hands on the wheel.
The Ionia County YAC is a student lead program. Students go though leadership, goal-setting, public speaking, team-work, that help them learn how to be effective at advocating for a positive change in their community. State Farm is helping to educate and create future leaders-and provided $30-thousand dollars to further this mission.
