Taking art to the extreme

Kids color on a couch from Talsma Furniture

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Kids got a unique chance to create a colorful masterpiece at Rosa Parks Circle! As part of the ArtPrize Finale Week Special on WOOD TV, Talsma Furniture brought out a white couch and let kids write and draw on it with washable marker. The little artists let their imaginations soar, drawing pictures and writing their names.

Talsma encourages their customers to be creative and express themselves through their home décor. You can bring in an item that inspires you or just choose the colors you like best to customize your furniture and home accessories.

A staff member at Talsma Furniture created her own masterpiece on a couch. She painted a picture of the Grand Rapids skyline. Talsma will display the couch at the Talsma Concert Series on Friday, October 10 at Rosa Parks Circle, then will auction it off with the money going to charity.
