Use your phone to keep organized

Single mom's can get help from apps

School is starting soon and that means single moms who are the head of the household are about to get busier. Summer has been so nice in West Michigan this year, but as the summer ends all those after school activities, homework, sports teams and appointments for the kids can overwhelm anyone.  Add into the mix parenting time schedules with it’s added dropping off and picking up the kids from parent to parent and you had better be super organized.

There are some great apps out there that can help moms (and dads too!) stay on top of the family’s busy schedule.  Previously, I have mentioned apps that are great to help communication between parents like Family Wizard and 2Houses.  There are more of these everyday it seems.  But what about just staying organized?  Check out Evernote and Fastnote apps.  They are apps that let you jot down a quick note to remind yourself of something you forgot or to keep information when you don’t have a pen and paper handy.  I use Fastnote constantly and the best part is it’s free!

Out of Milk is a great app to assist with grocery shopping.  Keep track of what you ran out of or plan your weekly meals wherever you happen to have a few minutes.  The best part is you can add your zipcode and get lists of sale items from your local grocery store adds.  You can check things off as you progress through the store and it can even keep track of what you are spending so there are no surprises at the checkout lane.

Using phone apps is a great way to keep on top of the daily to-do’s when you are a busy single mom.
