GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Kids and families got the chance to enjoy some fresh air, family fun, and a little exercise with Walk the Zoo at John Ball Zoo on Thursday. Maranda and friends from Priority Health led a group on a walk around the zoo before it opened to the public. For $5, participants got a t-shirt, a coupon for a free stingray feeding or budgie feeding, and a pass to the zoo for the entire day! Mornings are a great time to visit the zoo because the animals are more active.
Firefighter Mike and Jake the Fire Safety Dog were there to greet walkers and present Maranda with a letter from FEMA officials. The certificate congratulated Maranda on 20 years of free family fun with Maranda Park Parties, and thanked her for bringing fire and safety awareness to the people of West Michigan.
There is one more Walk with Maranda event coming up in October at the Air Zoo in Portage.
