Explore the country in an RV

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Everyone loves a good family vacation, but have you ever considered hitting the road with the entire family? The Herzog family spends six to eight weeks every summer exploring the United States in an RV. They started the tradition right after they got married, and continued it as their family grew. Their sons are now 12 and 13.

They say the experience is enlightening for the kids, who saw all 48 mainland states by the age of ten. They say an RV is a great way to go because you can bring all of the comforts of home. It’s easy to travel in an RV with young kids because you can still stick to a routine.

The Herzog family keeps it fresh and fun by involving the kids in the planning. They keep a calendar of where they’re going each summer and tell the kids about each place they plan to visit. They also create scavenger hunts for each stop to keep things interesting.
