BIG RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) College cafeterias are not what they used to be – more like restaurants – stations during specials during the day from lunch to late night. Pick and choose whatever you want to eat. Do as much fresh and local as possible, so students have healthy choices. It’s more than eating, it’s getting a chance to relax during your day and maybe meet new people. Students should be coached to make wise and healthy decisions when picking their meals. They have a registered dietitian for help and advice.
Priority Health has some advice for students
1 – eat a healthy breakfast
2 – make healthy choices in the cafeteria
3 — stay active
4 – get adequate sleep, at least 6 hours a night
5 – manage your stress levels
