David Warsen Legacy Walk

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOTV) The West Michigan community came together to honor and celebrate the life of David Warsen. The 2nd annual David Warsen Legacy 5K Run/Hero Walk was held on August 9th, 2014, at East Kentwood High School. The walk was held to honor the amazing life of Navy SEAL SO2, David Warsen. Warsen, a 2004 East Kentwood graduate and proud member of SEAL Team THREE, was killed in Afghanistan on August 16, 2012, along with 10 other service members, six from the United States & four from Afghanistan, after their UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter was shot down by enemy fire. His memory is kept alive through the David Warsen Legacy foundation – established by his mother, Patty Vroon-Frank, fiancé Karlyn Deveau, and cousin Sarah Johnson.
