GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) It’s time to start thinking back to school, especially for the little ones attending preschool for the first time. The Michigan legislature just allocated a large amount of funds to provide free preschool to four-year-olds across the state. Families need to meet some requirements to be eligible.
Officials at the Kent Intermediate School District and teachers say early childhood education is even more important than it used to be. For many children, preschool is the first opportunity they have outside the home. It’s where they start the path to learning, socialization, and being independent. It also gets them ready for kindergarten and beyond.
