The basics of car seat safety

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Car seats are the best way to protect your children while traveling in the car, yet vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death in children younger than 14 years old. Experts from Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital’s Injury Prevention Program say four out of five car seats are not installed correctly.

The Injury Prevention Program and Safe Kids Greater Grand Rapids helps teach parents how to keep their child safe with classes for expectant parents, car seat safety check events, and guidelines for children based on age.
