Teacher Bill Wolbrink teaches media communications. He says it’s important to get to know students and what interests them, then expose them to other areas in a career field so they can see the broad range of what’s available. One way the students accomplished that was with a local video competition. The competition was to show students and parents about what kind of careers the manufacturing field offers. They went into Gentex and interviewed workers about their career paths and the opportunities in manufacturing, then made a video.
Wolbrink’s students recently honored him by nominating him for the Wall Street Journal Courageous Leaders Award. He is described as an amazing teacher who cares about his students and is an inspiration to them.
