Food grant will run out-just $2 helps the IM Kids’ 3rd Meal Program

im kids 3rd meal feeding program

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) IM Kids 3rd Meal, a new non-profit started this last school year that provides sack dinners to food insecure elementary students, just kicked their campaign off today (8/4). They hope to raise $10,000 by the end of October.

Donors will be asked to contribute in increments of $2, as that is the cost of making one child’s sack dinner. In return, they will receive special ‘perks’, ranging from social media shoutouts and bumper stickers to dinner sack sponsorship and IM Kids T-shirts.

The recent fundraising trend of ‘crowdfunding’ allows users to sort through hundreds of projects in need of financial support, and contributing any dollar amount to any project they have a strong connection to. Child hunger advocates have recently decided to join the project in hopes of securing donations to feed local kids.

IM Kids started supplying ‘3rd Meals’ to students at Walnut Hills Elementary in Greenville and Emerson Elementary in Ionia this past spring. To date, over seventeen thousand ‘3rd Meals’ have been supplied.

The IM Kids’ 3rd Meal is providing $2 dinners to 380 kids, 5 days a week and 9 months a year. Unfortunately the food grant runs out this September; and the program needs help.

IM Kids’ campaign will be accessible for donations here on Indiegogo from now until October 4th.
