GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV)- The 2014 Maranda Park Party season wrapped up Thursday in Battle Creek with a huge crowd of 7,300 kids and families, bringing the 20 year attendance total to 530,000 participants. The Battle Creek Park Party was held at Northwestern Middle School and was the last in a series of five events held throughout the summer. This year marked the 20th birthday for Maranda’s Park Parties.
“What an amazing day in Battle Creek! Mayor Dave Walters made a surprise visit to the party and presented me with a key to the city! What a perfect ending to an amazing 20th Birthday season of Park Parties,” said Maranda. “I truly feel so blessed to have this on-going corporate and community support. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a very special year!”
To celebrate the 20th season of Maranda Park Parties, everything event included a birthday theme! Party-goers got to enjoy free balloons, cupcakes, party hats, prizes and free fun. Participating vendors & non-profits themed their tables and activities to the special occasion including a chance to register each week for a free birthday party from Craig’s Cruisers, birthday cards and party discounts from Meijer, and special birthday themed entertainment on stage.
