The final Maranda Park Party of 2014

BATTLE CREEK, Mich (WOTV) Thousands turned out for the final Maranda Park Party of the summer at Northwestern Middle School in Battle Creek. 7,300 people turned out, making it the second largest Maranda Park Party in Battle Creek. This is the third year Battle Creek Public Schools has hosted a Maranda Park Party. Superintendent Dr. Linda Hicks says the party brings a lot of excitement, with thousands of people expected to come out for free food, games, and prizes. The event also services as a “welcome back” for students, with all 13 Battle Creek Public Schools represented.

Thousands of kids and families gathered for a day full of free family fun, food, games, prizes, and more! Maranda and friends partnered to bring slides, dixie twisters, ziplines, and activities for kids of all ages to enjoy.

The Battle Creek Police Department says Maranda Park Parties are an opportunity to celebrate the community. They brought out their emergency response team, K9 unit, and bomb unit. Kids also got a chance to stop by and say hello and see the equipment police use.

Maranda was even presented a key to the City of Battle Creek.
