BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOTV) The final Maranda Park Party of the summer will take place on Thursday, July 31, at Northwestern Middle School in Battle Creek. This is the third year Battle Creek Public Schools has hosted a Maranda Park Party. Superintendent Dr. Linda Hicks says the party brings a lot of excitement, with thousands of people expected to come out for free food, games, and prizes. The event also services as a “welcome back” for students, with all 13 Battle Creek Public Schools represented. Parents can register their children on site.
The Battle Creek Police Department says Maranda Park Parties are an opportunity to celebrate the community. They will be there with an emergency response team, K9 unit, and bomb unit. Kids can stop by and say hello and see the equipment police use.
Free lunch for anyone 18 and under starts at 11:30 a.m. and the party is from noon until 2 p.m. Everyone is invited and everything is free!
Buses will be making stops at area locations to transport kids to and from the Park Party. Return trips depart from Northwestern Middle School at 2:15 p.m.
