Go camping in the heart of the city

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Get a taste of camping in a fun, safe environment with the Kroc Family Camp Out on Saturday, July 26 and Sunday, July 27.

Families are invited to come out for a fun weekend of camping on the Salvation Army Kroc Center’s 20 acres in Grand Rapids. Learn the basics of camping and enjoy fun outdoor activities. There will be a giant slip & slide starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday. There will be experts from Bill & Paul’s Sportshaus and Boy Scouts to show you how to set up your tent and build a fire. Dinner, games, activities, and a pancake breakfast are all included! It’s just $10 per person.

Families are encouraged to bring their own camping gear. If you don’t have any and want to participate, call the Kroc Center and they will help find you a tent.
