GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) The Meijer LPGA Classic kicks off in Grand Rapids in August. The huge event is bringing female golfers from around the world to West Michigan.

One golfer, Nicole, has been golfing for about 25 years. She says it’s always been a passion of hers. She says the golfers in the LPGA are a close-knit group. She travels with them, her husband who is also her caddy, her two-and-a-half year old daughter, and her mother. Her advice to working women is to love what you do.

Meijer is excited to bring the LPGA to West Michigan in part because it brings awareness to the company’s mission to help feed people in need in their communities. The Meijer Simply Give program supports food pantries in all Meijer areas. Your $10 donation is converted into a Meijer food-only gift card and distributed to local food pantries.

The Meijer LPGA Classic is August 4 through 10 at Blythfield Country Club in Grand Rapids. Kids 17 and under are free. You can find more information about the event online by clicking here.
