Monday, June 16
MARANDA’S PICK: Recycling Crafts and Movies (Grand Rapids)
Today and every Monday during the summer, the Kent County Recycling and Education Center offers FREE family activities from 1:00-3:30 p.m.  Make crafts from recycled goods-today kids will be making a magazine butterfly!  Plus, there will be a free movie!

Planetarium Show: Dynamic Earth (Grand Rapids) 
Explore Earth’s climate engine from monster hurricanes to erupting volcanoes in this visually astounding show. Narrated by Liam Neeson. The show begins at 1:00 p.m. and tickets for the event are $4 (plus general museum admission).

Tuesday, June 17
MARANDA’S PICK: 2014 Midwest League All-Star Classic (Grand Rapids)
Bring the family to Fifth Third Ball Park for the 2014 Midwest League All-Star Classic, presented by AMWAY.  The event promises to be a grand affair as the league celebrates it’s 50th All-Star Game!  Gates open at 4:00 p.m. with all kinds of on-field fun for fans including contests, player autographs and more.  Game time is 7:00 p.m. followed by Fireworks.

KDL Byron Center Branch Library (Byron Center)
Celebrate summer reading at KDL from 2:00-3:00 p.m. with carnival games and activities.

Garden Adventures: Spring Sprouts (Kalamazoo)
Kids ages 2-8 will have a blast exploring all of the new sprouts in the Family Market Garden at the Kalamazoo Nature Center through games, activities, and hands-on discovery stations. The program begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. No registration is required, just drop in! $2 program fee per child (in addition to regular admission).

Kids at the Market: Delightful and Silly Songs for Kids (Grand Rapids) 
Enjoy a morning of fun at the Downtown Market in Grand Rapids from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. “Mr. Picklehead” presents a delightful and silly sing-along. Kids will sing, jump, and draw! Don’t miss the educational, stimulating, and active fun!

John Ball Zoo: Two for Tuesdays
John Ball Zoo has Two For Tuesdays. The Zoo stays open until 8:00 pm and from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. get 2 for 1 admission!

Wednesday, June 18
MARANDA’S PICK: Egg-stra! Egg-stra!… (Holland)
Read all about it! The Critter Barn crew will be bringing birds to the Holland Farmers Market! Children will have the opportunity to pet chickens and hold baby chicks while they learn all about the food they provide us…the incredible egg! There will be fun, educational, and hands-on activities designed for children ages 3-10. The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. and is free to attend.

Farmyard Wednesdays: Romping Rabbits (Kalamazoo) 
Rabbits are everywhere! Join us at the Kalamazoo Nature Center to learn the differences of many types of rabbits, how to care for them, and feel just how soft their fur is. Program is for children ages 2-8 and anyone with a love of animals! The event is at 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the Market Barn. $2 program fee per child.

Thursday, June 19
MARANDA’S PICK:  Kick-Off of the Downtown Holland Street Performer Series (Holland) 
Head Downtown to experience every kind of performance art imaginable! Jugglers, musicians, mimes, clowns, acrobats, and more!

Third Thursday Concert Series at Felt Mansion (Holland)
Enjoy the summer evening at the Felt Estate and enjoy the music of Detour (bluegrass) on the new Carriage House Stage. Admission is free and concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Food and drink will also be available during concerts provided by Salt of the Earth, Saugatuck Brewing Company, and more. Concert will be held rain or shine.

Friday, June 20
MARANDA’S PICK: World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (Holland)
The 2014 Holland Aquatic Center event is projected to set a new Guinness World Record. HCAC hosted over 120 participants last year and is prepared to host over 200 this year. Registration is open to the general public for FREE! Children 5 and under are required to have an adult in the water with them, and after there is a short water safety video and open swim as well. Check in is at 10:30 a.m. and the event begins at 11:00 a.m.

Mommy and Me: Sensory Fun in the Greenhouse (Grand Rapids)
Moms with children 5 and under, come spend the morning at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market enjoying our greenhouse as Alexandra takes us through a story time journey with a variety of sensory activities that will bring the stories to life before your children’s eyes! The event is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. and costs $5 to attend.

The Berlin Fair: Kid’s Day! (Marne)
The Berlin Fair has been providing the community an opportunity to showcase agricultural and craft products since 1855. Each year the fair provides an entertainment venue complete with carnival rides and live entertainment at a low cost with a family friendly environment. There will be $1 carnival rides from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
