GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) There’s a special group that teaches kids about setting goals and sticking with something even when it’s hard.
The No Surrender Running Club was started in 2010 by a small group of runners who wanted to train at-risk urban youth to run the Grand Rapids half marathon. The program works with girls and boys ages ten and up, who live in the Garfield Park area of Grand Rapids.
The group’s next event is the Cereal City Classic 10K in Battle Creek on Saturday, June 14. They hope to have a volunteer to run side by side with each participant.
The program starts back up the first week of September, and they run Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 6:15 p.m. For more information, visit their website by clicking here.
